Send Documents

Submit in-person, by fax, or online using TaxAct Client Xchange.

Have all documents available when submitting in-person, by fax, or online. 

PDF files are preferred. JPG or PNG is acceptable, but not preferred.

We are now using TaxAct Client Xchange, a convenient and secure website portal to safely exchange tax documents online. Go to TaxAct Client Xchange portal login page

BEFORE YOU CAN SEND OR RECEIVE DOCUMENTS ONLINE, YOU MUST HAVE AN ACTIVATED ACCOUNT THAT YOU CAN LOG INTO. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE OR KNOW YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD, YOU MUST ACTIVATE A NEW ACCOUNT BY REQUESTING AN INVITATION FROM MICHAEL SCOTTO-DIMINICO AND CLICKING THE ACTIVATION LINK TO CREATE ACCOUNT.

What Do You Need Help With?

Submit Online Using TaxAct Client Xchange

If you have the username and password for an account that was already activated.

If you do not know your username and password, you will have to create a new account by requesting an invitation from Michael Scotto-Diminico then following the Activating Your Account instructions.

Log into your account portal and upload files:

1. Go to https://www.mytaxdocs.com/.

2. Use the username and password you created when activating the account.

3. You will be asked where you want the multi-factor authentication PIN number to be sent (depending on what information was provided at the time account was created).

4. Look for the PIN number that was sent, and enter it on the login screen that asks for it.

5. If login is successful, you will be taken to your File Cabinet where you should upload this year's tax document files. Michael will receive an email whenever you upload a file.

After uploading files:

1. Your files will be reviewed, and your tax documents prepared.

2. Once completed, the prepared tax documents and signature pages will be uploaded to your portal File Cabinet. 

3. You will receive an email alert from noreply@mytaxdocs.com that files have been uploaded to your File Cabinet.

Review and sign:

1. Log back into your TaxAct Client Xchange portal at https://www.mytaxdocs.com/ to carefully review prepared documents. 

2. Print signature pages, then sign, scan and upload signed pages to your TaxAct Client Xchange File Cabinet.

Activating Your Account

If you have not received an email invitation, request one from Michael Scotto-Diminico.

You will receive an email invitation from noreply@mytaxdocs.com that contains a link unique to you for security purposes. You must click on the link in your email to activate and create account.

Create An Account

1. Enter your email address, a username, and a password to create your account.

2. You will be asked to confirm your email and enable multi-factor authentication in order to complete the account creation process.

3. Once you create account, you must go to https://www.mytaxdocs.com/ to re-enter the portal with your username and password. Do not click on the invitation link again.

4. You will receive an email from noreply@mytaxdocs.com whenever a file has been uploaded to your File Cabinet. Similarly, Michael will receive an email whenever you upload a file.

TaxAct Client Xchange User Guide

​​Files

You can upload just about any file type into Client Xchange. For example: 

• Tax forms you’ve received such as Forms W-2, 1099 and 1098

• Microsoft Office files (Word, Excel, etc.)

• .csv files of stock transactions

• Any scanned documents (including .pdf and .tif)

• Photos of documents, receipts, statements, etc. (including .jpg and .gif)

To upload a file:

1. Select the folder in which you want to save the file.

2. Click  “Add File” button on the far right.

3. Browse to the file location, select the file, then click Open.

To edit a file name:

1. Select the folder where the file is saved.

2. Locate the file and click the pencil icon on the right. 

3. Edit the file name and click “Save”. 

(To cancel editing, click the circle with a line through it.) 

Note: Modifying or removing the extension (e.g., .pdf) will NOT change the file type. 

To delete a file:

1. Select the folder where the file is saved.

2. Locate the file and click the “X” on the right. Click OK to permanently delete the file.

Downloading Files:

1. Select the folder where the file is saved.

2. Click on the file name.

3. After the file is finished downloading, double click on the download file to open.

Moving Files:

Files should be re-uploaded into the desired folder. If the file is not saved locally and you opt to delete it from the original location, be sure to download it first to save to the new location.

Folders

To add a folder:

1. Click “Add Folder” button.

2. Enter a folder name and click Save. 

(To cancel, click the circle with a line through it.)

Hint: Note you can create folders within folders.

To edit a folder name:

1. Click on the folder for which you want to edit the name.

2. Click the pencil icon, edit the name, then click “Save”. 

(To cancel editing, click the circle with a line through it.)

To delete a folder (and all the files within the folder):

1. Click on the folder you want to delete.

2. Click on “Delete Folder” at the bottom of the folder screen. 

When you delete the folder, you will also delete any files within the folder.

Password

Change password

1. Click the Profile icon in the Navigation menu, then click “Change Password”. 

2. Enter your old and new passwords.

3. Click Change Password.

Forgot password

1. Go to your Client Xchange sign-in page.

2. Click “Reset password here” and follow the easy instructions.
